Confessions of a Rookie Scrum Master

One of our own DFW Scrum members, Tony Plank, will be sharing his "Confessions of a Rookie Scrum Master".  Tony will bare all as he walks you through the education of a rookie Scrum Master.  He will be taking you through the Mistakes of Magnitude, the Thrill of Victory, and the Agony of Defeat.  Tony has prepared a candid presentation that will either reduce you to sobbing in the fetal position or urge you on to excellence through self-sacrifice and undaunted single minded purpose.

Tony has over thirty years experience in information technology spanning a diverse set of technologies and functional roles.  He was heavily involved in the early fad touting self-managed teams where he became a true believer in small, excellent and spectacularly performing team.  After decades of suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous Waterfall, recently Tony was introduced to Scrum, and it was love at first sight.  Soon he found himself as a Scrum Master, brave and sure, and hopes that others can learn from the tale of his fateful trip.

Great presentation, Tony!! When politics come into play, it always makes the project most difficult when you are used to doing the tasks required to get things done properly. I had a similar situation with my last project and was ultimately let go for trying to do the right thing for the organization. I think they still do not see the writing on the wall as far as what the future holds. Thanks for all your insight. I think it was beneficial to new and old Scrummers alike. Keep up the great work!!
