How did you hear about us?

Through Bio, Tech, and Beyond. I attended the grand opening yesterday (7/12/13).

What sort of events do you expect from DIYbio San Diego?

Not sure yet. Biohacking is a new concept to me. Seems fun and exciting, though.

How would you describe your lab experience?

Decades of wet lab work, experimental concept and design, and research management. I also was a scientific and technical writer as a second career; I wrote all the user's manuals for the first next-generation sequencing systems (at 454 Life Sciences / Roche), so I am a pretty good technical communicator too for bio / molecular stuff, both verbally and in writing.

I am a PhD molecular biologist with experience in both research and management, and both in academia (former prof) and in biotech, both large (>80,000) and small (employee #1, TWICE!). I love the startup experience, building from scratch.
