I'm excited about this (and I rarely get excited). But I'm also excited at the prospect of getting 6 hours back into my weekend. So I cd go or postpone. Will monitor.

Hi Josh - I was looking forward to this too, however this weekend you will get those 6 hours back. I plan to schedule another orienteering event for the group in the future. Stay tuned...

Due to the weather forecast, I have decided to cancel this event. I have done some research and found an orienteering course led by Park Rangers at one of the National Parks within an hour of DC. My current plan to have another orienteering event in future, but a date cannot be scheduled until we find out what is needed to lock down the course for the group.

The weather forecast just looks too nasty. I hope this is rescheduled in the future.

Are we doing this rain or shine? I'm hoping for shine but that looks iffy at best.

Hi Kevin - Personally I would like to do this on a nice day, not a rainy one. The forecast is calling for 60% chance of rain tomorrow. I will be watching the rsvps closely and will cancel/re-schedule in the future, if needed. The National Park Service has an orienteering course that is lead by a Ranger and is for groups, so it may be a better fit then trying to do this particular event in the rain.

I'm on my phone so checking is a challenge but could (should) we proactively reschedule this for the future?

Sounds like there is a Zpizza nearby. How will we find each other at the park?

If we have never done this before, but have navigated ourselves thru the grand Tetons(years ago), can we pick up how to do it easily? Anything we should bring besides water, bug spray and sunscreen?

If you are interested in orienteering, Prince William Park has trails from novice to advanced, if you go to he visitor center they will give you a map for a trail to try

Hi Everyone - I'm looking forward to seeing you on Sunday. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with any eateries in the area and could recommend a place for us to have a sit down after the event or if people might be interested in something else like a picnic/potluck. Keep in mind that with the drive, it is a bit of an early start. Please comment. Thanks!

Previous comment saying no was the result of my mis-navigating my phone LOL.

This sounds like fun and will probably get a little workout in too.

Sounds fun but I need to pick up my daughter at Union station at 11:30. Wish I could clone myself. LOL.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
