TRIBUTE RIDE, A VERY SPECIAL VSR and DCAMC GOODBYE...

This is a joint ride organized by DCAMC.

Last Tuesday, November 8, a man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding struck a passenger car. He was only 32 and also a fellow member of VSR.

"Darren Frederick Morrell of Valentino Drive in Oakton was operating a 2005 Honda CBR sport bike east on White Granite Drive. An 85-year-old Oakton man operating a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix, exited a post office parking lot and attempted to turn left onto White Granite from a service road. The driver of the Pontiac apparently did not see the motorcycle and turned in front of it. The motorcycle struck the left front wheel and quarter panel of the car. Morrell was ejected from the motorcycle and struck the pavement. He was medevaced to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later."

When we've met Darrel's wife last Sunday at the viewing, she mentioned how exited Darrel was as soon as a new VSR Meetup was announced. For this reason, I am asking you all to come this Saturday to this very special ride, a VSR and DCAMC Goodbye.

What to expect:

11:30am: Let's meet at Starbucks on 6525 Frontier Drive in Springfield
12pm: Kickstand up for a short ride (itinerary will be posted soon)
1:45pm: Arrival at the crash scene (White Granite Drive near the intersection of Chain Bridge Road)
2pm: To honor Darren, a minute of noise: Let's rev our engines (around 2pm is the time the accident occurred)
