Hi to all and thanks so much for all the feedback. I have already rewritten my 1st chapter from the suggestions offered. Maybe I will be able to share again sometime soon. I feel really good about the rewrites. It was not as hard as I thought it would be, giving characters to the people and trying to go with one writing tense in 3rd party.
Thanks again. Looking forward to June's meeting and others reads.

Excellent meetup; good sharing, interesting readings and great feedback, both for the brave folks who read and for future tips for the rest of us.

    Oops...didn't mean to hit post!
    ...to continue...
a bit of everything, in terms of style and genre, in this group. Your work will fit in fine. So, if you would like to read, request through the organizer. In this case, the Big Cheeseburger is Mickey Baumer, although he will be out in May and I believe Jonathan Giles will be stepping in as interim Quarter Pounder. Three people read in each meeting, although sometimes we have backups if someone doesn't show. You bring several copies of your work (double spaced) with you so that people can follow along as you read. You read for about 20ish minutes and then the group gives feedback for 20-30 minutes. Generally there is time for you to ask questions as well, but if not, most people hang around after the meeting and chat. Hope this "brief" explanation helps. Hope to see you there!

Ok, Kaytee, I hope someone responded to you via email, but since I head the committee for redundancy committee, I'll try to help in the most superfluous manner possible (just my style). This group would be great for you as we have one member who was just recently published, several who have been published for quite some time, and a few others who are currently in various steps of the process. There is also a bit of EVERYTHING

Hi guys, so I have sorted my transportation issues out. But I was just kinda wondering what this meeting would entail? Iow's I am writing a non-fiction work (cant attend the non-fiction gala sadly) so do I bring that with, or I guess rather do I bring my laptop? Do we share our work, or is it sort of a Q&A thing? And one thing I am really interested in finding out is how to get published. I've read about how, but I find there is nothing like first hand knowledge. Well, let me know when you can, either on here or emailing me ([masked])
    Thanks

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
