"Be My Valenwiener" Meet-up THIS Sat (2/8), 12-2 pm, Good Karma

Happy Hump Day!

I think it's safe to say that it's wiener dog deep out there!  Have you all shoveled your yards so the weens can go potty?  I know my neighbors think I'm crazy....shoveling a path along the fence and a square patch in my yard, but when they have short little legs, you gotta do what you gotta do!

******************************************************

By Saturday, the wieners will be going stir crazy, wanting to get out of the house, so perfect timing for our "Be My Valenwiener" Meet-up!

  • Sat, 2/8
  • 12-2 pm
  • Good Karma Dog Center
  • 8511 Frederick, just South of Shopko on 84th and Center
  • It's our "Wienter Formal" so dress the pups up in their Valentine's best!  (Or at least warm sweaters since it's going to be cold!)
  • $5 per family pays rental of the facility, anything leftover will go to help needy rescue dogs.  We're getting enough saved up for a donation to another Rescue Spotlight!

It's time for out "Wienter Formal" so dress the girls up in their pretty little dresses, sweaters, tutus, flowers and bows, and dress the boys up in their sweaters, ties, and bandanas and we'll have a ball watching them play!

***If you bring your newspapers, Vicki Peterson will collect them and take them down to HUA!  Please leave out the sale ads as they can't use those.

Promise 4 Paws has a fun fundraiser coming up here in Feb!  It sounds like a really fun night and you can support them in 2 different ways!

Dog Lovin' Ladies Night Quarter Auction:

  • Friday, February 21st.
  • Doors open at 6pm. Auction starts at 7pm and goes ‘til 10pm.
  • Arbor Hall 14040 Arbor Street, Omaha, NE 68144 http://arborhallomaha.com/
  • Cost: $30 per person BUT you get $10 of that back in quarters that you can use for bidding!  So it really only costs you $20 to get in!

Join us for a fundraiser where all proceeds go directly to Promise 4 Paws! There will be tons of vendors, food, drinks and fun!

Included in the cost of your ticket are great appetizers, a specialty drink and $10 back in quarters that you can use for bidding.  All items are bid on with your quarters!  (Thus the name "quarter auction."  There will be thorough explanation and a practice round prior to the auction beginning.)

Expect to see clothing, candles, accessories and other vendors with awesome items for bid.  (Dapper Dog is planning on attending!)

Check the P4P website for a registration form. http://www.promise4pawsdogrescue.com/

A basket Dapper Dog put together last year for a fundraiser raffle.

If you can't attend the event, you can donate! We will be putting some baskets together to be auctioned off at the event.  Your donation can be dog related or not.

Maybe you have some extra dog items that you aren't going to use, like a harness and leash set, doggie clothes, cute food dishes or water bowls, unopened bags of treats, etc.

But it doesn't have to be dog related. Donations can be anything! Do you have any Christmas gifts that you know you're not going to use? This is a great way to "re-gift" them and do something good for rescue!

Like that lavender lotion and bubble bath set your friend bought you--but you don't like lavender.... The candle that your co-worker gave you that doesn't match your decor...  That bottle of red wine your brother brought over--but you like white.... How about that lovely bathrobe and slipper combo that your mother in law bought for you when you love your current robe and slippers!

I see all of these as going into one basket and being labeled as a spa night basket!  So even if you don't think it's a very big donation, when we put them all together, we get a pretty good basket out of them!

Movies, music, lotions, bath gels, candles, wine, glassware, gift cards, picture frames, jewelry, decorations, games...we can take just about anything and manage to put it together into a basket or gift box set!

Feel free to bring any donation items to the meet-up on Saturday.  Otherwise you can contact me and we can arrange drop off or pick up.  Thanks so much!

"Help me...."

Hope to see everyone on Saturday....wieners dressed in their Valentine's best!  (But they don't have to...they just look so cute when they are!)

Have a good one!

~Cheri, Dusty, Georgie, and Daisy....who is already in hiding b/c she saw "the dress" come out of the closet....
