Happy Monday!

We have a busy and fun weekend coming up for dog related events!  Definitely something for everyone!

Friday, Feb 21

Dog Lovin' Ladies Night Out Mega Raffle

  • 6 pm-10 pm
  • Arbor Hall (14040 Arbor St, Omaha--near 144th and Center)
  • $30 gets you:  $10 in raffle tickets, appetizers and a specialty drink.
  • Tons of great raffle prizes--all raffle tickets cost just a quarter!  (It's similar to a quarter auction.)
  • Lots of vendors, such as Dapper Dog (we have some fun new fashions for your furry friend!)
  • Not all vendors and raffles will be dog related, also things like home decor, clothing and accessories, personal care and beauty products and much more!
  • All proceeds go to help with the care of the dogs in Promise 4 Paws Dog Rescue. Like sweet Sammi Jo.

***Please RSVP to ensure you have a seat reserved via fb or their website:

It's a fun time and friendly dogs on leashes are always welcome.

Sunday, March 2

Pet Care Affair Presents:

Stem Cell Regenerative Therapy by Dr Ramm, DVM

& Acupuncture and Therapy Laser by Dr Kyle, DVM

  • Sunday March 2
  • 2 pm
  • Arbor Hall, 14040 Arbor (near 144th and Center)
  • Free event sponsored by Dapper Dog, hosted by Arbor Hall

Please join us for this (free) education session to learn about how each of these available treatments could benefit your pet on a variety of conditions they may suffer from. There will be time for question and answers after the presentation

Dr. Ramm and Dr. Kyle both practice at Rockbrook Animal Clinic.

Dr Ramm will be telling us about the exciting new field of Stem Cell Regenerative Therapy and what it can do for our pets!  The stem cells come from your pet, they're collected and processed, then re-injected into the problem area.  So far they have had excellent success with joint, bone and ligament issues including arthritis.  They hope it can be expanded to help with other diseases such as liver, kidney, heart, and immune-mediated diseases.

Dr Kyle works a great deal with Acupuncture and Laser Therapy.  Many of our dachshunds in our DA group have suffered from back injuries and IVDD.  In the past, most were told surgery was the only option for recovery.  Unfortunately, it's rather expensive and many of us can't afford surgery.

In the past couple of years, however, acupuncture and laser therapy has helped many of our long dogs heal, and get back on their feet without any surgery.  Dr Kyle has truly been a Godsend to many of our little wieners with her ability to use these new tools to help stop their pain and get them walking again.

I would recommend that anyone with a dachshund attend this event so you are ready in case the worst happens.  It's important to know about current treatments for back injuries.  And, it will help you to have a plan, know where to go, and what to do in the event your doxie goes down.  (Rockbrook is not the only place that does Acupuncture and Laser Therapy, so you can plan ahead and call around to find out where you would take your dog if the worst would happen.  I know 4 Elements does both treatments and also incorporates some natural healing methods.)

Believe it or not, there are still vets out there that aren't up to date on current treatments and will tell you that surgery or putting your dog to sleep are your only 2 options.  Knowing ALL the options will help YOU decide what's best for your "baby."

***If you plan to attend, please RSVP to the event on the Dapper Dog Omaha fb page, or [address removed] to ensure enough seating.

*Sorry, no dogs allowed at the event.  (Except therapy dogs, of course!)

Special thanks to Molly Pagels for letting us use Arbor Hall!  (Pictured: Molly's Zena, Polly and Marco.  Want to take a guess who's the boss?)

Have a good week, and hope to see you at some point this weekend!
