This is a spinoff modeled on a successful dads group in Santa Cruz, CA.

Group Philosophy

If you're like me, you work full time, and perhaps your male camaraderie and friendships have suffered as you struggle to find the time to balance your job with the responsibilities waiting for you when get home from work to focus entirely on being a husband and father. This group is a chance to allow our kids to play together but also to build, nurture and sustain those vital, but often neglected male friendships. It's also just a place to air and discuss all things joyful/tearful about being a father.

Who Should Join

This group is for Dads of all ages in Long Beach and nearby communities who organize occasional casual get togethers, usually on Saturday mornings. Whether you are a single dad, stay-at-home dad, unemployed/laid-off dad, or working dads, all are welcome.  Ideal age range for kids is toddler through preschool.  

What We Do

The group typically gets together on Saturday morning for coffee and play time, including beach days, BBQ's, treasure hunts, day hikes, bike rides, museum visits, swimming parties, etc.  Meetups and events are open for all members to schedule and attend.

NEW MEMBERS

In the interest of preserving the privacy and safety of our membership, I will only approve gents who fill out the profile questions in their entirety and upload TWO (2) photos, at least one of which should include both you and your child/ren in the picture. Please understand that this is both to protect first and foremost the participants of the group, especially the children, and also the group's integrity.  The information requested is simply to determine with reasonable certainty that you are indeed a dad and share the values of other participants in the group.  While I am an optimist at heart, it would be naive to think that a group like this, which includes young children, isn't susceptible to unsavory types.
