TED is not a person, it is a social and intellectual phenomenon that is changing the world for the better.

TED doesn't want your money, it just wants your attention and your enthusiasm. TED has no political or religious agenda. All great ideas are welcome regardless of origin.

If you don't know what TED is? Then you really need to know before we can reasonably expect you to to be enthusiastic about it.

Once you do know what it is you will know why meeting other "TED Heads" in the real world seems like such a good idea.

The global TED organization is devoted to spreading the world's best ideas via lectures given by the world's most talented and inspiring speakers.

This local TED Meetup Group is not "officially affiliated" with the global TED organization (at least not yet) but we do share common cause.

The TED organization is devoted to spreading awareness of great ideas world wide. We are devoted to spreading (and implementing) those ideas locally.

Like TED, this Meetup is not devoted to a single idea. It is celebration of a multitude of great ideas.

Please note: There is nothing that says your idea has to have an official TED seal of approval.  If you have a good idea we want to hear it! Even if it hasn't been made it to an official TED video (yet.) Even if your idea is as yet "half baked "bring it anyway. I believe the group will  turn out to be an effective "half bakery."

Before you even think of joining this group please visit http://www.TED.com and once you have been there and looked around (and have been blown away by the amazing ideas you will find there) then please remember to come back here and join and help us to to grow a real world local organization like TED right here in the DFW area.

And if such a meetup group doesn't yet exist near you? Then please make your own chapter wherever you are. 

If we play this TED meetup thing right you will never again have to wonder where you can go to and meet inspiring hopeful intellectual people.

Just imagine how nice it would be if there was a place where you could go to and you didn't even have to wonder about it, you would know implicitly that if you went there you would get your socks knocked off by one great idea after another!
