There are contractors, consultants and Freelancers in exciting various fields. Though our work is exciting, there are other areas of being independent workers or services providers that we may need more information about in order to provide better services to our clients and also better position ourselves as independent workers/companies in being and staying successful at what we do.
Being in business for themselves, contractors, consultants and freelancers still have to find work/projects from other companies, which presents a different set of issues or circumstances from say a standalone small business owner.

Mission of Group: This group has been formed to network with other independent workers: Contractors, consultants and freelancers, to improve upon our business practices, share new ways of doing business in changing economies, and continue doing the best for our clients and ourselves.
We will talk about a range of topics like:
- How to still find projects/work in a down economy and other challenges of independent workers: cash-flow when there is no project etc
- Ways the economy has affected different fields and how people have had to re-invent themselves to stay afloat
- Finding other sources of income for MSI (Multiple Sources of Income), to compliment the main business especially with no projects in hand
- How to cost effectively advertise yourself or company for your services or skills
- Discuss ways to stay motivated, preserver and remain successful
- Transitioning from a store-front business to an online only presence (for businesses where this can be done)
- Determining one’s niche market, and differentiate themselves from the competition
- For where it applies, how to gain acceptance from site (client) managers and work together well to accomplish the goals set forth
- Business Plans: Where and who can help with those if people need contacts for those, cost effectively
- Setting up business entities: Referrals for who or where to get those services most cost effectively
