Announcing a new Meetup for Dallas Meditation Meetup!
What: Day Long Meditation and Yoga Retreat this Saturday in Arlington
When: Saturday, April 2, 2011 9:00 AM
Where: Arlington Yoga Center
1011 W Abram St
Arlington, TX 76013
Why: Meditation too frequently ignores the need to calm the body to enable the calming of the mind. Western yoga often stops short of putting the mind into stillness. These two practices support the whole. For an entire day, escape into your true nature.
Have you participated in a yoga/meditation class and toward the very end finally begun to quiet your mind? Through a more extended practice, we can go deeper in creating a more sustainable, profound inner peace. Once in this state, we can more easily maintain a quiet, ease-filled mind in our day to day life.
Through this full day of practice, you will more adeptly learn to watch your thoughts with great interest, curiosity, & non-attachment. And, through that process ("mindfulness"), you can still the mind & allow your intuitive wisdom and innate joy to arise. We will learn the concept of mindfulness, and put it into practice during sitting & walking meditation, yoga asana, and conscious breathing, listening & eating. No meditation experience is necessary, just a desire to free your self of negative thought patterns and see your own true nature.
Retreat is offered on a donation basis, pay what you can afford or what you think is appropriate. All monies collected will be split between Mercy for Animals and a fund setup to help victims of the recent events in Japan.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Ariel Nessel has been practicing meditation since 1998 & hatha yoga since 2001. He has completed 200hr & 500hr trainings w/Dharma Mittra, is in the midst of an 18 month meditation training program, & runs a green business that owns and operates over 1,500 apartment units in Dallas.
