Come & Enjoy the DANBURY AREA BOOK CLUB
Enjoy a book club that reads great books, is social and welcoming. We value each member's unique view and appreciate lively discussions.
The Danbury Area Book Club is a social club - meeting at a casual local restaurant, café, or at a member's home, as well as a traditional book club where we read relatively current literary books and discuss them. It's a terrific opportunity to meet new people in an informal manner and to form some lasting relationships. Book titles will include literary fiction as well as non-fiction, memoirs, and biographies.
The group will vote on the books for each month after taking suggestions. We usually meet at different cafes or restaurants. Meetings are every 3rd Thursday of the month. Also be aware that Meetup charges Organizer dues to run this book club site. To offset the costs we have a Membership of $6.00 for a year (12 months - which will be due at your first attended meetup) or $2 per meetup.
If you join but do not attend (1) meetup within 6 months, you will be removed from the group. While this is not necessarily about the money aspect, it helps to maintain the site with all members benefiting.
Please make sure you consider this when joining.
