Dancers - You need quality photographs and videos of your performances and technique!

The purpose of this group is to develop help dancers develop their portfolios with high quality images and HD video reels. Examples of great dance photograpy are Lois Greenfield, Barbara Morgan, Andrew Eccles and more recently Jordan Matter.  It's true  - a great photograph is worth a thousand words!

We will cover the following topics:  a) what your dance portfolio should include, b) dance requirements to produce good still photography and video, c) how to find good photographers and videographers, d) legal and business aspects of developing your portfolio. 

We will also be working with photographers and videographers to educate them about the elements of good dance photography, and the unique requirements of ballet, modern/contemporary, jazz and ballroom dance portfolios.

Meetings will be held at a The Carriage House Studio, a creative space in downtown DC, that can be used for photography/video and dance rehearsal/performances. The studio is 3 blocks from the metro (Mt. Vernon/Convention Center - Yellow Line) and there is parking available. 

While the "home" of this group is Washington D.C, but we will also be holding events in New York and Miami in the future - so we welcome members from those great cities!
