Dance Friday for January 15

From: Mitch
Sent on: Thursday, January 14, 2010 8:52 AM
A reminder that Friday is just around the corner and that means another opportunity to dance. Dance Friday will be taking place at the Brookline Tai Chi Center, 1615 Beacon Street in Brookline on Friday, January 15 from 8 pm to midnight.

This week Katherine will be the DJ for the first set and Tim P will keep the beats bumping in the second and third sets. Robin will be our fabulous facilitator.

We've heard from some people that they would like to be able to get to know some of the other Dance Friday and Meetup folks. We'll be meeting at Dance Friday at 9 pm in the small lobby, just past the front desk. Look for Nick or me (Mitch). We will be there to coordinate, introduce you to Dance Friday, and answer any questions you might have. Please provide us with feedback on the time. Is 9 pm too early? Too late? We'll adjust the Meetup based on what works for people.

Each week between the first and second set, we have a "middle" time where the Facilitator (this week it's Robin) explains how Dance Friday works. The middle also provides an opportunity for people to make announcements. If you're coming from Meetup, feel free to let other people know during the announcements.

If you're planning on attending, please take a minute to RSVP. Dance Friday is a thriving community and we generally have a great turnout, but RSVPing lets everyone know that they will have an opportunity to meet other interested people.

All ages are welcome; children must be accompanied by a supervising adult.

The suggested donation is on a sliding scale of $12 - 8. Teens are $4 and children 12 and under are free.

Dance Friday is a volunteer-run, consensus-governed, non-profit dance organization.

Hope to see you this Friday.
