Darwin Day Fossil Hunt

Greg Smith and the Alabama Paleontological Society have invited us to join them for a fossil hunt at the Union Chapel Mine. This is the site of an ancient tidal mud flat. We hope to find plant fossils and foot prints of both vertebrates and invertebrates . Wear old clothes and bring a walking stick and a carpenter hammer with a claw. You should also bring flat boxes to put your fossils in. We will be able to keep the fossils we find with one exception: If a found fossil is exceptionally good and rare it may end up being the property of the State of Alabama. Thank you Greg and the APS!
