Transforming Health Through Data (rescheduled!)

Details
EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED!
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Our next event will look at how data is radically impacting healthcare, medicine and health. More details coming soon.
6:00pm to 7:00pm Data Drinks
7:00pm to 7:10pm Introduction
7:10pm to 8:30pm Presentations
8:30pm to Drinks Specials at Clyde's across the street!
On an organizational note, we are excited to announce that we are restructuring the event to improve networking and facilitate interactions. We are hosting Data Drinks before the event, allotting an hour before the talks start (and if anyone wants to sponsor this, please contact us). We are also going to limit the event to 4 speakers to ensure that we have sufficient time for Q&A as we feel our members' interactions with speakers is absolutely key. For the hard core community members, we will still be changing venue and heading to a local drinking establishment to continue the discussions with Data Late Night. Please let us know what you think!
Confirmed Speakers
Joseph Abrahamson (http://jspha.com/) (@sdbo) is an engineer and designer interested in building friendly, ubiquitous, and powerful quantitative tools. With a background in biomedical engineering and mathematical statistics he's building Reify Health to move the bar on clinical research.
Reify Health (http://reifyhealth.com) (@reifyhealth) is building the lab bench for digital health research. Mobile technology can revolutionize the healthcare industry through patient monitoring and engagement, but the research necessary to discover effective uses of mobile technology in healthcare is currently too time-consuming and expensive. Reify is building a web platform that allows scientists and clinicians to create custom mobile health solutions without doing any programming and provides statistical tools for developers to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of their technologies. Early customers include researchers from academic medicine at institutions such as Johns Hopkins, Harvard, Stanford, and Brown.

Social Health Insights (http://socialhealthinsights.com) was formed in May of 2012 in response to the HHS/ASPR NowTrending2012 (tracking disease on Twitter) challenge. Our team came together with a common mission to build an application that would help health officials track disease and natural disasters on Twitter and won. Since, we have been building platforms that positively impact global health with a focus on data analysis and agile development. Our team brings a wealth of experience, within many of healthcare’s diverse and challenging environments including nurse informaticists with management experience and system architects and engineers. The company offers a combination of consulting services and product development.
