Agreed. This was one of the best meetup's I've been to. Brian was an interesting and humorous speaker. Kudos to whoever invited him.

Outstanding. Great speaker, and great hosting by Mike and the Groupon folks. Plenty of time to meet others, listen to the speaker, and grab food/drink.

A quick check of the calendar reminded me that this is the same night as my wife's birthday. In the interest of not sleeping on the couch, I will gladly offer my spot to someone on the wait list.

What blogs, ezines, or journals are you reading to stay SMEed up?

I've found Hacker News (news.ycombinator.com) and Quora (app) to be useful in general CS and mathematics engagement trends and topics. Feel free to call out my weenie-ness, but I also think Wired's good for keeping a pulse on trends.

I think "SMEed up" means, "how does one stay abreast of trends and practices; and maintain (or build) skills in the area of statistical analytics as it pertains to ones given area of interest?" -- in short, "how to I stay smart about statistical analytics?"
