Thanks so much for posting the slides. A few of the great examples aren't in the book. I thought it was generous of you to post the links. Posting the slides is above and beyond.

This was my first Data Viz event and I thought it was pitched just right. It was a concise overview of the the subject - but with Randy Krum's personal focus, stress of what he finds important, and humor, so it was both useful and entertaining. Yes you could read the book (and you should) but the personal touch is great. I've also read all of Tufte's books, starting right on publication of his first, but I still got something from his seminar.

Chris, you must've misread—and miscounted—the comments. (Let's see what Greg Toth's exit poll says.) And what you see as evangelism, I see as essential context for a diverse group.

64 people said they would make practical use of the knowledge gained during the presentation and 4 people said they would not.

The only thing that could have made it better would have been actual food snacks; the speaker and his infographics were absolutely top notch!

Terrific info, terrific presentation, terrific speaker, terrific evening. One of the best speakers I have heard in a while, with so much to offer, well spoken and presented.

Yes this is in NW on the GWU campus. We are getting ready to go and look forward to seeing everyone!

Is that E St NW or NE? Is this an office building?

    February 11, 2014

    • Matt N.

It says GWU in the location area, which is consistent with NW.

Looking forward to my first meet up since I moved to this area

    February 10, 2014

  • Ravi

Yes, I am pretty excited there and meet with the experts.

    • Sean Moore G.

Ravi, what kinds of experts are you looking to meet? Working on something fun?

      February 8, 2014

I am a sr. BI developer and worked on lot of dashboard designs, so I am always interested in knowing what the other people are doing, learn from them and share my experiences as such. So I thought this will be a good place to meet like minded people. Currently I am working on reports and dashboards development with OBIEE and MicroStartegy tools.

Would like to be there, but may be traveling...
