Data{Meet} Delhi is hosting a short meet up on Tuesday, 29th of September 2015. We have a round of short talks/presentations:
- Alix Dunn, Executive Director at The Engine Room
Alix will share experiences supporting two transparency and accountability projects from the ground up and what The Engine Room learned about the obstacles and opportunities organizations face when experimenting with new technologies.
The Engine Room is an NGO that supports social change organizations to successfully use data and tech in their work. The engine room focuses on transparency and accountability advocacy support, responsible data in advocacy, and research on how tech and data are (and aren't) useful in social change work.
- Avinash Celestine / John Samuel Raja, How India Lives
How India Lives is an Internet-based application that aims to organise a massive amount of public data on India, and make it available in a searchable, comparable and visual format. Avinash and John will speak their experience with open data involved in this project.
- Rohith Jyothish, Centre for Budget and Governance Accountability
Rohith will speak about CBGA's open budget data initiative. CBGA is a policy research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi. It analyses public policies and government finances in India, and advocates for greater transparency, accountability and public participation in budget processes.
