IBM BigSheets, by Michael B. Moore

In this talk, Michael will demonstrate BigSheets - IBM's spreadsheet interface to Hadoop map-reduce processing.

Michael B. Moore has over two decades of information technology experience providing enterprise software solutions for manufacturing, retail, telecommunications, financial services and the public sector. Mr. Moore has successfully demonstrated business and technical skills on a large number of engagements, transforming business data governance, enabling rapid product introduction, and delivering Master Data Management solutions. He is a Technical Sales Manager with IBM and has a passion for improving sales operations using Bayesian data analysis.

Apache Pig, by Dan Osipov

Dan will give us an overview of Apache Pig, which is a platform for building ad-hoc queries on top of a Hadoop Cluster. First, he'll give a brief introduction to Pig Latin, the pipeline data flow language used by Pig. Time permitting, Dan will conclude by talking about extending Pig using UDFs (User Defined Functions), as well as integration with Python, JavaScript, and Groovy.

Suburban Station has an entrance at 17th and JFK that is just over a block away.
