Data Visualization With Web Standards

We're pleased to have two exceptional speakers for February who will be discussing data visualization with web standards, and interactive and user-experience design with a HTML/CSS3/JS toolkit.

Andrew Trice of Adobe will present on Data Visualization With Web Standards, and discuss techniques for visualizing data in web and/or phone gap applications, using only standard HTML, JS, & CSS.

Andrew Trice is the Sr. Tech Evangelist, Web Standards & Mobile for Adobe. He is an experienced software architect, team leader, accomplished speaker, and published author. He specializes in rich application development, object oriented principles, multi-touch development, realtime data systems, GIS, and data visualization.

Siarhei Mardovich of EPAM Systems will discuss some of his experiences prototyping UX, Human Centered Agile approach, and the toolkit developed using HTML5, JS MVVM frameworks and SVG/VML and some of the customized data visualization solutions including: Stacked Gantt Charts, Equalizer filter based on Parallel Coordinates.

Siarhei Mardovich develops data visualizations with HTML/CSSS3/JS MVVM frameworks and SVG/VML from a unique UX prototyping approach with EPAM Systems, INC. and has eight years experience optimizing user engagement and data visualizations for such brands as: Thomson Reuters, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and Google.

As usual, we'll start refreshments at 6:30pm with time to meet, network, catch up and meet new people with interests in data visualization.  The formal presentations will begin around 7:00pm and there will be time for Q&A afterwards.  So please join us for these excellent presentations, the best DataViz networking in New York, and some light refreshments.

Please note: only those with confirmed RSVP's will be able to attend, because of security requirements at the space that generously hosts & sponsors us. Reservations close at 5:00pm. If you aren't able to get a slot by then, we apologize, but you won't be able to enter the building. For this reason, we've expanded the number of RSVP's we accept, to account for no-shows and to make sure we fill as many of our seats as possible. Thanks for understanding, and see you there!

Informative. It was great to be in comfortable room with a group of like-minded people, all being receptive to the possibilities presented. It was also great that Andrew could share his knowledge of new Adobe initiatives and products with the group.

Thanks for another great presentation. Especially thanks Andrew from Adobe showing us many practical visualization tools. But one thing I want to mention is that, while we are trying to create visually striking graphics, let not forget more important is to convey a solid data story. Visualization just the mean, not the goal. It just my personal experiences that some times the interactive visual does create a "wow" effect but it also distracts the audience from understanding the data behind it.

Adobe becoming a polite player in the new web. Who knew! I don't imply corporate endorsement lightly; I was impressed.
