Rupert's Meetup In The Park

Hello new members, old members, friends, and unknowns!

It's been a few months since I've organized any events for my two singles groups, REALITIES SINGLES and DATING ENGLISH STYLE. Thankfully, this is because my own dating efforts finally paid off, and I found the woman I had been looking for!

My very capable Assistant Organizers have been doing an excellent job in my absence keeping the groups alive and thriving. However, we could still do with a few more people hosting and co-hosting events every once in a while. So I've decided to return to Meetup activity for this one very special event, which has the following goals:

  1. To allow all of our new and old singles members to meet each other and maybe even find a special connection with someone. To assist with this, we'll do a short round of speed dating;

  2. To allow everyone just to meet some very cool new people and make some quality new friends while lazing around in the very attractive Clover Park (Santa Monica) on a warm, summer afternoon;

  3. To give our members the opportunity of thinking about, talking about, and maybe even becoming Assistant Organizers for one of my groups. (Assistant Organizers get to host their own events - which is, of course, a bit of work, but it's also a great opportunity for meeting and connecting with the men/women of your dreams!

If you think that you might like to attend this event, please RSVP "Yes" straight away. If you change your plans later, that's absolutely fine!

When: Sunday. Please arrive between 1:45 and 2:00. We will wait a few minutes after this for late arrivers, but if you're much later, we might have to refuse you participation.

Where: Clover Park, Santa Monica. The park's address is 2600 Ocean Park Blvd, CA 90405. The side of the park that we're meeting on is along 25th Street. We're meeting under the small trees in between the tennis courts and the white building, on the south-west side of the park. (From Ocean Park Blvd, go down 25th Street to the tennis courts and you'll see us from the road.)

Parking: Easy and free in the residential streets that come off 25th St. (Hill and Ashland). Allow 5-10 minutes to park your car and walk to the park!

What to bring: It's a free event, but if anyone wants to donate a dollar or two to contribute towards our costs, it would make us very happy! Please bring a pen and a small book/magazine to lean your match form on. Depending on the weather, bring water, sunscreen, a hat, a sweater, and (if you like) a blanket or cushion to sit on!

How long will the event last? That will depend on how many people show up - but it's likely to be between 1 and 2 hours.

What happens if it's raining/snowing/very windy? Moderate to uncomfortable deviations from perfect weather won't affect us. Continual rain will cancel.

See you soon!
