Sorry, not a big Thai fan. I was hoping to have some French or Japanese on the menu.

    1 · March 26, 2013

    • David V.

Debbie, Regarding Aoyama, sorry about that, but you can still come and order Japanese al carte and not pay the charge $40. I think the French part has to do with French influences on Thai cuisine during colonial occupation and thereafter. You can view their dinner menu here: http://aoyamanj.com/w... Please come on this basis.

Good point Sally! If u recall, on NOV 7, 2012, we were snowed out of our Harvest Wine Dinner With Julie Pedroncelli St John @ Nanni's Ristorante! And this, coming just a week after Hurricane Sandi’s devastation! - a pitiful occurrence for all those driven from their homes by the hurricane. Then, just last month we suffered a terrible set-back with a snow storm that began just 2 hours before the event @ Amazing Grapes in Pompton Lakes hosted by importer Nicole Burke (who traveled all the way from Brooklyn to join us) causing about 15 people to cancel in one terribly disappointing hour. MaryAnn Flatt, our dear caterer that evening, suffered the most. The National Weather Service forecasts a 40% chance of precipitation for tonight. No snow is expected. I hope a little rain this evening will not keep our many members from enjoying a superb evening of exotic pan-Asian cuisine, fine wine & even better company! Brace yourselves for a very good evening! I hope to see many of u later!

Looks good! What kind of wine should I bring?

    March 25, 2013

    • David V.

A wine that you like to drink and/or that may pair well with the menu. Rule of thumb is to match like with like, e.g., spice with spice (Zinfandel, Gewurztraminer, Barbera with spicy dishes & BBQ), acid with acid or heat (Riesling with hot, zesty cuisine, or a true bright & crisp Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc with a salad), simple & plain with simple & plain (Chablis with very light, delicate fish like Dover sole or raw oysters), big & robust with big & robust (Cab Sauv, Cab Franc or Merlot with steak, prime rib & rib roasts). But most importantly, make sure you like the wine.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
