Cake or Death on the Main Line. Enjoy Both Over Lively Talks on Life&Death
Details
Come join us at The New Leaf Club, a new non-profit community center catered by Firinji and located in the heart of the Main Line (http://www.newleafclub.org/about/) for a special version of Death Cafe Philadelphia - on the Main Line. Much like Death Cafe, The New Leaf Club values, "Mindfulness, Openness, Diversity, Acceptance, Balance, Collaboration and Cooperation."
Here we will adopt the European "salon" model of Death Café: free-flowing conversation around the topic of death-from-any-angle. Openness is the only pre-requisite. Typically we break out into smaller groups of 4-5 people to keep the conversations intimate.
Our chosen professions: Rachel is pioneering technology in funeral planning. She started and manages I'm Sorry to Hear (http://www.imsorrytohear.com), the TripAdvisor of funeral planning, with the goals of simplifying decision-making in funeral planning, driving transparency in funeral planning, and encouraging sharing of experiences amongst the community (Rating and Reviews of funeral establishments).
Simcha is a death awareness educator and a bereavement counselor. He is the Director of DA'AT Institute (http://www.daatinstitute.net) for Death Awareness, Advocacy and Training.
Together we want to give you the opportunity to talk about life's "heavy stuff" and explore your own notions on death and life.
