Details

Join us for a special version of Death Cafe at the Journey's Way Senior Center (http://www.journeys-way.org) in Roxboro on May 14th. Journey's Way is designed to provide resources and programs for people 55+, but ALL are welcome to this Death Cafe. Doors will open at 5:30 when a light meal will be served (free! Just let us know you would like to reserve one).

Here we will continue to adopt the European "salon" model of Death Café: free-flowing conversation around the topic of death-from-any-angle. The only pre-requisite is openness! After an intro and history on Death Cafe, we typically we break out into smaller groups of 4-5 people to keep the conversations intimate.

Rachel Zeldin will be facilitating the event and will introduce I'm Sorry to Hear (http://www.imsorrytohear.com) to the group. Rachel is pioneering technology in funeral planning. She started and manages I'm Sorry to Hear (http://www.imsorrytohear.com), the TripAdvisor of funeral planning, with the goals of simplifying decision-making in funeral planning, driving transparency in funeral planning, and encouraging sharing of experiences amongst the community (Rating and Reviews of funeral establishments).

As part of an initiative to talk about the "D word" (death!) and "F word" (funeral!) before it's too late, we want to give you the opportunity to talk about life's "heavy stuff" and explore your own notions on death and life.

All Death Cafe events are held on a non-profit basis. A donation of $1.00 is appreciated, but not required, to cover administrative costs for the Meetup Group.
