Bits & Bytes: Anatomy of our Annual Photo Exhibit
Details
This year, our photo exhibit will be held at The Little Wine Shop in Avondale Estates, a cozy but inviting space along East College Avenue. We will be exhibiting 45 images from October 1 until January 31. There is much work to do in preparing for, setting up, and taking down an exhibit.
Many of our members will be exhibiting for the first time. It's a little on the intimidating side if you haven't done it before. Why not come to this Bits & Bytes to get all the information you need to make your decision to exhibit, as well as to get questions answered.
We will explore every facet of exhibiting at this event, from the way we selected the exhibit venue, how we make the decision of how many images to display, what size the images can be to fit the alloted space, instructions on how to select your images for exhibit, how to get them printed, matted and framed, and how we get the images to the venue for hanging. It's an interesting process.
Duane Stork will be our guest speaker at this Bits & Bytes. He will be talking about how to critique your own work, and how to use your critique to select the photo or photos that you will submit for consideration.
Come and join the excitement as we prepare ourselves for this year's exhibit. If you have wanted to exhibit but were just not sure how to go about it, or if you have been intimidated by the whole process, this Meetup is for you. Bring lots of questions, because this is the time to get all the answers you need to make your decision.
The "Call for Entries" will be issued within a couple of weeks after this meeting and we want everyone to be ready to respond.
Any member may attend the Bits & Bytes, but the requirements for exhibiting are that you must have joined the group on or before January 1, 2013, and must have attended at least one meetup this year.
Normally, our Bits & Bytes are paid events, but we are waiving the charge for this one because we want as many of you there as possible.
