Bits & Bytes-Anatomy of This Year's Photo Exhibit
Details
Our photo exhibit this year will be held at Fernbank Museum of Natural History. We were invited to exhibit there almost 2 years ago and October is getting closer and closer. We will have much to talk about and many instructions to give during the next few months.
Why not come to a Bits & Bytes to get all the details. If you are a new exhibitor, a new photographer, if exhibiting tends to put you in a frenzy, this is the Meetup for you.
We will explore every facet of exhibiting at this event, from the initial invitation to exhibit at Fernbank, through the negotiations with the museum, and right on up to the preparation of your photo and delivering it to our staging area, ready to exhibit. You will hear about matting and framing options that will make it much less expensive than you would think.
To help us with this Meetup, we will have the winner of last year's first place ribbon, Gary Howie. Arthur Ratliff will join us to help us understand how venues are chosen. He has much experience at selecting exhibit sites for his pictures, as well as putting on joint exhibits with groups of photographers. Barbara Graves, a master mat cutter, will be there to explain how we can help you with the matting process at no cost to you. Finally, you will be presented with options for purchasing very low cost, nice-looking gallery frames.
Come and join the excitement as we prepare ourselves for this year's exhibit. If you have wanted to exhibit but were just not sure how to go about it, or if you have been intimidated by the whole process, this Meetup is for you. Bring lots of questions because that's what we're here for.
We want lot of you there and we want to generate a lot of excitement, so there is no charge for this Meetup.
