DemoDays is back and bigger than ever! With over a dozen student demos at the intersection between code, design, startups and digital art, DemoDays have become the largest student-only maker meetup in New York City. Past demos have included:
A (working!) remote control for human beings A Javascript library for calculus and statistics A pre-beta version of a student startup, later received $2m from Twitter cofounders Biz Stone and Ev Williams LED lights powered by motion-activated bacteria Demonstrations of OpenGL, Box2D, and other libraries As always, we want YOU to demo. This month, we're really gonna blow the lid off this sucka - we're changing locations, and pulling this off at a mega awesome secret location you can hear about by RSVP'ing for this meetup. We've also got two incredible speakers coming by to give some awesome shop talks:
Tom Igoe, co-founder of the Arduino Project, an open-source microcontroller that has over 300,000 units worldwide. Matt Gattis, co-founder of Hunch (acquired by eBay for $80m) and SiteAdvisor (acquired by McAfee). http://i.imgur.com/AmSt2.gif
As always, DemoDays is student-only (kinda, more on that in a second). No recruiters or lame entre-wannabes allowed! Because of the special nature of this DemoDays, we will be letting in some select members of the NYC startup community to see what we've been up to. If you're not a student and want to attend this DemoDay, email the organizer ( nate.berkopec@gmail.com ) and we'll talk ;) It's gonna be insanity! We'll see you there.
