Bio-School: Lab 1 - Microscopy

This week at Bio-School we will start getting into the lab! After a quick review of chapters 7 & 8, we will introduce basic wet-lab safety protocols and being the first lab in this manual: http://www.thehomescientist.com/manuals/Illustrated_Guide_to_Home_Biology_Experiments.pdf

FOR MONDAY:

1. Please read Chapters 7 and 8 if you haven't already.
2. Read the introduction, lab safety, and Lab 1 sections in the pdf lab manual linked above.
3. Bring a notebook which will be your designated lab notebook.
4. Suggested donation for this meetup is $5; however, bringing supplies is alternatively encouraged. Supplies (with quantities) this week include: Bleach (1), rubbing alcohol (1), super glue (1), a book light (2).

Think of this as a potluck - people who sign up in the comments for various supplies get to bring those. IMPORTANT: If you do not come prepared to be in the lab you will not be able to participate. Being prepared includes: wearing appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes and you have READ the safety section of the lab manual.
