Code Lab: Introduction to Python Programming

This week we will continue our Code Lab series with an introduction to Python programming! We will be using Rosalind problems as our impetus for learning Python. Rosalind (rosalind.info) is a bioinformatics problem platform that introduces real molecular biology concepts in a fun, challenging way. Feel free to check it out or start thinking about some of the problems listed before the session on Thursday!

Bring a laptop!! And please try and get Python and a text editor/development environment installed before the session (if you don't have time or can't figure it out, I'm happy to help on Thursday). I use Text Mate (https://macromates.com) which is great for Mac users. There are a variety of other scripting tools, so please choose whichever you're most comfortable with.
