Introduction to Pentaho ETL

Pentaho Data Integration is an open source graphical ETL tool that has been gaining popularity and maturing over the last 5-6 years. It has recently added Big Data features supporting Hadoop as source/targets as well as creating map reduce jobs using the GUI. Kevin will give a live demo of some of the Pentaho basics and compare and contrast it's features against current Informatica features.

Introduction to Talend ELT

Talend Open Studio for Data Integration is an open source ELT tool that runs on an Eclipse platform and autogenerates java code. Although open source, anTalend Enterprise deployment could have some associated costs. Open source is changing the software game by lowering the entry point cost barrier. A demonstration of the open sourceTalend will show the number of data type connections available with building, types of transformations and then executing an ETL job.
