Mesos + Consul = Developer Happiness
Details
Microservices are kind of painful to use in real life. Discovery and monitoring are hard and often result in clunky, hard-to-use apps that are bound to one service discovery mechanism. Hashicorp's Consul (https://consul.io/) aims to fix that, and the microservices-infrastructure (https://github.com/CiscoCloud/microservices-infrastructure) project integrates the two of them in a way you hardly have to think about. In this talk, we'll go over what makes Consul so special, and how you can use it in your Mesos deployment for more discoverable apps.
Speaker Bio: Brian Hicks is a Senior Developer at Asteris LLC, a consultancy in St. Louis focused on providing development and operations support for Mesos deployments. He enjoys cats and tweeting about cats.
Added Bonus: Mesosphere will be hosting an Ask Me(Us) Anything (AMA) immediately following Brian's presentation. This should prove to be an excellent opportunity to get some protips on care and feeding of Mesos!
