Google Glass, One Year Later

Details

This month, Mark Scheel is back to give us an update from his presentation last year on Google Glass development. A lot has changed since then! This presentation will be a version of a talk Mark is giving at the upcoming AnDevCon conference in May.

Delivering amazing experiences to Google Glass users can be accomplished with timeline cards, native experiences or a hybrid approach of the two. In this tutorial, we'll cover how to get a Google Glass development environment set up and build an app three different ways.

We'll cover how to make ADB connections to Glass, helpful tools for development (like screensharing what is on Glass), and talk about successful and less successful design patterns. We'll also cover when you might want to use each of these three delivery techniques, and when not to!

Mark lives in Colorado where he loves to snowboard and trail run. He has completed marathons and IronMan 70.3 events, but never finished his Computer Science Ph.D.

About Denver Droids

Each 3rd Wednesday of the month, we meet at IBM in the DTC. From 5:30-6pm we will socialize and enjoy food and drinks. At 6pm we will either have a presentation about a new/interesting Android topic, or we'll work on a group project. If you are a new or experienced Android developer, or just someone that is curious about Android development, we hope you will join us and become a regular participant!
