Presentation(30 - 45min):

Building multi-player games with socket.io (http://socket.io/), phaser.io (http://phaser.io/), and mobile devices - Kaylyn Van Norstrand and Jon Hammond

Game development is a lot of fun and using phaser.io (http://phaser.io/) can make it easier to figure out certain parts in your game, although there are many challenges but a lot of capabilities with phaser that we will discuss. We will be going over how we used both phaser.io (http://phaser.io/) and socket.io (http://socket.io/) in order to build out a multi-player game called Not-So-Super-Smash-Brothers. This particular game is up to four players and it connects people to the game screen (which is the computer screen) with socket.io (http://socket.io/). Each person has their own individual player that they control through their smart phone. With each player having a shooting ability and a power-up, the last man standing wins!

Socialize:

We'll have beer and pizza! We'll also allow people to announce any job opportunities they may have at that time so you can socialize with potential applicants.
