I primarily want to learn how to read for myself and others, but I would like to receive readings from others in the process!
Because I am a complete beginner, I haven't had much experience with tarot. However, I did attempt to do a reading for my friend (with information I had found in a book) and all of the cards pointed to exhaustion and too much time spent on work. The cards seemed to suggest that she needed to rethink her priorities, and she did. She has now found a different job (with different hours) and is doing a lot better as a result in all aspects of her life.
From what I have seen and heard, tarot provides insight and advice to those seeking it, allowing the subject to see situations through a different perspective and make better decisions. Tarot causes the subject and reader to truly consider their lives and their current state, and to see the big picture of life through a series of archetypes. Tarot means something different to everyone from what I've noticed, but each user seems to live a more thoughtful and well rounded life as a result.
I have read a book on tarot (tarot for dummies) and I have two decks: the Rider-Waite deck, and a deck I received from a friend as a gift. I have recently tried to look at one card per day and apply it to my life (based on what the book says) but I am very much a beginner. I am looking to receive lots of help and tips. I have also chosen tarot as the subject for my hugely important "senior project" (needed for graduation) that requires the learning and usage of a new skill. I have been wanting to learn tarot for quite some time, and this is the perfect opportunity. I can't wait to get started, and I'm very excited to make new friends that have similar interests!
