Mindnet is a not for profit orginization, whose aim is to help people with Depression and Bipolar in Brisbane Australia.

So, what do we do exactly ? Well many of us have noticed that there is a lot of websites, brochures and fliers out there about what depression and bipolar is, but not a lot of practical support. What we are hoping to achieve is to get some people together who would like to chat, learn about their illness and meet other people who have the same problems. We do this by enjoying social activities like Coffee, BBQs, Dinner, Going to the Movies etc. A big part of depression and bipolar is feeling alone and isolated. We are trying to change that. We also operate a social networking facility similar to facebook for those with Depression and Bipolar

Lets get a few things straight. We are not homeless people in tattered rags. We do not hear voices that tell us to set fire to things. We are not emotional basket cases. We are high functioning sensitive people who see the world a little differently.

What members are saying

I think people who do suffer from these illnesses would benefit greatly from this social support group, as it gives you an opportunity to mingle with other people that suffer from the same illness. ...

Because it can help themsocially and emotionally to reach out and get support also just a good reason to get out of the house and enjoy the day.
