An espresso machine joins the Internet of Things

These days the Internet of Things is all the rage. With cheap Wi-Fi boards like the ones from Particle.io, it's getting easier to prototype a web-connected gadget.

I'll talk about how I modified my Silvia espresso machine to control the temperature precisely and used a Ruby web app to monitor and tune the controller.
