DevOps Perth May Meetup

Please join me and our two new co-organisers for what will be my last meetup before heading over to Dubai to take up an exciting new role with the Emirates Group.

As always, we will have two great speakers to entertain and educate us!

The first talk is from member Ryan Armstrong and is called: Monitoring 6000+ devices in Zabbix

Ryan will describe a Skunkworks project executed by Kinetic IT at the Department of Education to deliver an autonomous infrastructure monitoring solution for over 6000 devices distributed across WA. The team were given opportunity to experiment with DevOps practices such as Scrum product development, Infrastructure As Code and Continuous Integration to determine where the value lay and which practices should be adopted at greater scale.

Our second talk will be by James Bromberger and Ryan Turk on behalf of Sumo Logic. They will be discussing the awesome things that have been happening at Landgate in a true Lean / DevOps / Agile spirit.

They have recently built a brand new land titles system from the ground up in AWS using tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, Chef and Sumo Logic. The Sumo Logic use case currently is around security analytics.

It will be another great meetup for DevOps Perth, and I look forward to seeing you all for one last time!
