Details
This months tool session
The tool session is a short 10min share of real world experiences with tools and technologies that kicks off our events. This months tool session is Yeoman by Rudi Grobler
This months main session facilitator: ROUAN WILSENACH
Rouan is a software developer at ThoughtWorks in Johannesburg. He's passionate about writing code that makes an impact in people's lives. He writes code for a living and coaches others in agile engineering practices while he's doing it.
This months main session
Tooling for infrastructure automation has made huge strides in the last few years. Rouan will show you how to use Puppet, a tool that lets you automate the configuration and deployment of the software on your servers. You'll get to see Vagrant in action along the way, a tool that makes development and testing of your infrastructure code easier than ever.
Who can attend/cost?
This event is open to EVERYONE, so if you have been working in software dev for 10 years, or just starting out even if you still in university or even high school - come along!
Cost: This is the best part - it is FREE!
What you need to bring?
No machines will be needed - just a questioning mind.
Where will we meet?
We usually meet in one of the auditorium, and the specific room for each month is posted online at: http://dpe-community.azurewebsites.net/
If you are not sure on the room, look out for our pull up banner outside the room - alternatively phone me (Mark) on 0823279128 and I will come and find you!
Snacks and drinks afterwards
Microsoft has sponsored drinks and supper (usually Pizza) after the talk, so if you like being social come and chat after the meeting and get some grub.
