Pitch Perfect! (26/06/13) -- UPDATE --

From: Robert F.
Sent on: Tuesday, June 25, 2013 12:34 PM

Hi all,

Just a quick note to update you on some more developments for tomorrow evening's Pitch Perfect event.

We have added a not one but TWO new and really useful talks (see details below in blue) to this event which will start a 6pm. We highly recommend you try to make this as you will gain some invaluable information from the top notch specialist law firm Wilmer Hale who are flying in experts from their Boston and Silicon Valley offices just for you!!!

1. "Playing it Smart – Avoiding the Legal Pitfalls You Never Knew Existed"
2. "Looking West – What’s Happening in the US?"

Speakers: Paula Holland, Andrew Ross, Mick Bain, Peter Buckland

Mick Bain and Peter Buckland from their Boston and Silicon Valley offices have worked extensively with emerging companies, many of whom have helped change the way we all work, think and live.  They will be discussing current developments in the US and will be taking questions at the end of the presentation.

Following these talks, we will dive right into our Pitch Perfect! evening where our amazing and ever exuberant coach/speaker/presenter/facilitator/motivator David McQueen (check out his LinkedIn profile to see how awesome he is will take us through a series of fun and interactive exercises that will teach us everything we need to know about pitching and the importance of a good pitch. Topics will include, but not be limited to:

  • Challenging fear and building confidence
  • Breathing techniques
  • Posture & body language
  • Performance & voice projection
  • Types of pitches
  • Identifying your signature style
  • Finding your hook
  • Adapting to your audience
  • Dealing with technical and other problems
  • Plus much, much more...

We will be covering a lot of topics as you can see so come prepared with tablets and laptops or for those of you who are more old school, chalk and blackboard! ;)

This is event is not for anyone wishing to remain a wall-flower. You may be one now, but you will be the life of the party by the end of it!!!
There will be lots of audience participation and will be fast moving and super interactive. So come prepared to have your inhibitions surgically removed from you!!

See you all on tomorrow evening.
