PUJAS (Chanted Prayers)  to be announce ....

Pujas (chanted prayers) are an important component of training in a spiritual life. They help us to still our mind, connect with the Buddhas and receive blessings. Below is the list of the pujas offered at the Port Jefferson branch. All pujas are free of charge. All of our prayers and meditation practices are recited in English with CD accompaniment. These chanted prayer practices are suitable for beginners as well as more advanced practitioners.

Heart Jewel

Heart Jewel practice is the very essence of the New Kadampa Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism. By relying upon this practice, we can purify negativity, accumulate merit, and receive blessings. In this way, we will naturally overcome obstacles, accomplish realizations and we will attain a very special Dharma wisdom.

Green Tara

Green Tara is a female Buddha, whose name means Rescuer; she is the embodiment of swift compassion. If we rely upon Tara sincerely and with strong faith, she will protect us from all obstacles and fulfill all our wishes.  Everyone welcome and invited to join us for Tara’s chanted prayer practice, Liberation from Sorrow.

Chanted Prayers for the Dying and Deceased

Powa Ceremony, a beautiful and powerful ritual practice enables us to benefit the deceased by coming together as a group and making prayers and offerings on their behalf.  Everyone is welcome, please bring an offering of food or flowers if you wish.
