First off this is no day centre! This meetup group is for the modern disabled person; students, workers, world travellers, ravers and fun-goers... Having run the magazine http://disabilityhorizons.com/ for a while and listened to our online community of disabled people, there has been a general demand for offline meetups. Our ethos is to deliver a 21st century view on disability: The meetup group will push this agenda further and continue the start we have made already online. The purpose is to arrange regular meetups for anyone with an interest in disability. Whatever the social setting, a meetup will offer you accessible, fun and useful settings. We know that for example finding the right bar: wheelchair access, transport links and toilet facilities can be difficult. So sign up, come along, ask any questions you have on disability to others, and share your experiences with like minded people.

"Hello, I have a neurological disorder and use a wheelchair. I decided in the New Year to make a bit more effort in socializing. I live in Kent and travel in to London frequently but I don't know any other disabled people living near me."
