New Meetup - Gathering and Analyzing Twitter and Digg Data

Join us for a discussion about gathering and analyzing Twitter and Digg data.

We will be discussing how we are gathering, storing and analyzing Twitter and Digg data with Hadoop and related technologies. The speakers will overview how we are collecting the data, what systems we have in place for storing the data into HDFS, the types of Hadoop and Pig analytics we have to process the data, and how we are using R and Graphviz to visualize trends and social networks. We mostly focused on analyzing topic trends, user-to-topic associations, and user-to-user associations. In addition, we will show early work on how we are using Datameer to analyze and inspect the Twitter and Digg data.
