Join us for a two-topic night!!

First, Adam Shook will lead a discussion about Apache ZooKeeper. He'll provide an overview of ZooKeeper -- why it exists, what it does, and why you should use it.

Shook will discuss common use cases, such as priority queues, application configuration, and distributed locks, all with high-level implementation details.

Following that discussion, Andrew Wells will spend some time talking about Gluster-FS, which is an open source, distributed file system capable of scaling to several petabytes (I hear it's actually brontobytes!) and can handle thousands of clients.

He'll discuss how easy the software is to use and how Gluster-FS is affecting not only the future of storage, but in the virtual desktop and Hadoop environments.

Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Meetup will take place from 6 to 9 p.m.

*** Our Meetup location has changed since our last Meetup. We're now on Guilford Road in Jessup! ***
