Hi -
we're having our first Mesos Meetup. It will be interesting & fun. Tasty food & drinks (beer and wine) will be provided courtesy of Airbnb at their HQ. O'Reilly will hand out some books as well.
Ben Hindman, infrastructure engineer at Twitter and one of the creators of Mesos will talk about design decisions and explain how Mesos works under the hood. He will also talk about best practices, introduce the API and explain how schedulers can be built on top of Mesos. Ben will demonstrate how to use Mesos directly to build custom data infrastructure services. He will talk about Twitter's use of Mesos and the critical role it plays in their infrastructure for systems such as Storm.
We have limited space!
When you arrive at 99 Rhode Island, please enter through the metal gate - the door on the right side is unlocked!
Thanks & I look forward to seeing you Thursday, September 6th @ Airbnb!

Great talk, learned a lot about the organization of what runs at which level of the stack.

Highly insightful and provocative. The capabilities provided by Mesos and Spark have industry-quaking consequences. The distributed scheduler solution provided by Chronos based on Mesos is elegant and robust.

A good start with the MESOS group. I am hoping that there will be some type of polling added to verify that allocated resources are still being utilized. Looking forward to future MESOS meetups.

The talk was really good, All of the information was concise and provided a good overview of what was going on. One thing that could be a bit better is if the speaker repeated the questions.
