We visit establishments in LAKE, COOK and MCHENRY COUNTIES (and also Wisconsin) frequented by locals… the types of places that provide good times but will likely never make it into a contemporary design magazine.

Over seventy-percent of our members have attended a Dive Bar Meetup in the last three months... we do not have a high rate of inactive members! Why would you want to stay away when you can have so much fun?

LOCALLY and REGIONALLY-OWNED BUSINESSES are the FOCUS OF THIS MEETUP. Whether neighborhood bar, roadhouse, music club, ethnic eatery, diner, pub, or sports bars dripping with proletariat charm… if they offer something unique, and have good and reasonably-priced food, drink or entertainment, we’ll be there. Don’t let the term ‘dive bar’ scare you; we use it loosely. We’ll only book places that have been pre-screened, have character, are safe, and have clean restrooms. Our Meetups will offer real value for your dollar on entertainment, alcohol and food.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR SECRET PLACE! Share YOUR knowledge...think friendly, no frills, laid back, performers with no (or reasonable) cover charge… places having charm or are at least distinct, preferably offering live entertainment (blues, soul, rock, jazz, folk, rockabilly, old country, latin jazz, lounge singer) and/or a dance floor, rec room and killer jukebox.
