Docker Bulgaria - Initial meetup

The Meet Up:

We'll have 3 15-20 minute talks alternating with 15-20 minute breaks for questions, networking and snacking.

The talks will be as follows:

• What is Docker and Docker internals? - A brief overview of Docker, how it was born, what it is, what could it possibly mean for you as a developer/administrator and overview of some internal details of the docker architecture.

• The Docker "almost in production" talk. - A presentation of possible workflow for docker in a production environment. Overview of alternatives.

• The Docker Application Demo - Live(hopefully) coding, building a docker application in 15 mins.

The Language: If we have English only speakers at our meetup the presentations will be in English, otherwise, we'll stick to ..whatever language is preferred by the audience.

Getting to know each other: This being our first meetup, ideally we'd love to hear from as many people as possible on what they are doing with docker (be it personally or professionally). What problems they have encountered, what solutions they have come up with, why they are hesitant to use it or what is stopping the adoption. If anybody would like to give a brief talk, the scene is yours!

Areas of interest: The desire is to have guest speakers starting with meetup #2. So, which part of docker is most interesting to our group as whole and what sphere should our first guest be from? We'll try to determine that together!

The Free Stuff: We have "free-as-in-beer" docker t-shirts and stickers. We also have free beer.

The buffet: Sandwiches & snacks, sweets, soft drinks and of course...beer!

The no-no: This is strictly a no-recruiters meeting. We're all technical people and would like to bounce of ideas and knowledge of other similarly inclined folks in a friendly atmosphere. If you are planning to come simply to poach staff, please don't. You will not be welcome. If somebody would like to have a recruitment spot opportunity, please, get in touch before the meeting.
