6th Docker Switzerland User Group Meetup

We're happy to announce the next Docker Switzerland user group meetup, to be held on Wednesday 17th of February from 18:30.

The agenda of the meetup is,

18:30 to 19:00 - Talk by Jochen Zehnder, netIT-Services - "What is Docker and why is it so hot?"

Docker is just ~3 years old but already managed to be one of the hottest topics in the area of software development and operations. In this talk I’ll give an introduction into Docker including the motivation and vision behind it. To achieve this, I will talk about the single tools provided by Docker (e.g. Engine, Machine, Swarm, …) and other vendors helping to leverage the full power behind the concept of containers.

19:00 to 19:30 - Talk by Pascal Liniger, Infix Development GmbH - Introduction to Google Kubernetes and how to do a cloud-native deployment of Apache Cassandra.

19:30 to 20:00 - Talk by Mateusz Sojka on "Docker at DeinDeal"

DeinDeal has a team of +20 engineers in 5 different teams that build a platform and services based on Ruby on Rails, Padrino and Sinatra on the backend, and Javascript, iOS and Android on the frontend.
