Donor Squad Food Drive and Kickoff Party!!

You are cordially invited to Donor Squad’s Kickoff Event! http://img1.meetupstatic.com/img/smileys/smile.gif Please join us on February 5th for a neighborhood food drive, followed by a pizza/beer meet & greet party.

Interested volunteers/everyday superheroes will meet outside Madison Market (1600 E Madison Street) in Capitol Hill at 12:30 pm. We will divide everyone into small groups and each group will be given a cart (compliments of Madison Market) for can collection. Each group will be assigned a small section of the neighborhood to collect food from. Now don’t worry, these people will be expecting you. We are sending out flyers to households prior to the event so that residents will be prepared for the pick-up date.

After we divide and conquer for about an hour, everyone will need to return to Madison Market, drop off their food, and walk their superhero appetites down the street to Piecora’s for some pizza and beer. We rented the upstairs banquet room from 2:30pm-4:30pm!

All collected items will be donated to homeless youth at the YouthCare. YouthCare helps homeless youth in many ways, but the program we will be specifically be benefiting is YouthCare’s Transitional Living Program. The food we collect will help fill the pantries and allow homeless youth to learn to cook for themselves. To learn more about YouthCare please visit, http://www.youthcare.... Creative capes are encouraged, but not required. Everything is more fun in costume. All ages are welcome. We look forward to meeting everyone. Cheers!
