The Ups and Downs of Lulworth

A beautifully undulating roller-coaster of scenery as we rise above Lulworth cove, descend into the bay, and walk around its circumference (tides permitting), where after a short break, will turn out attention to the strenuous 2 miles to Durdle door. Don't under estimate this short walk, as the entire length is around 4 miles, but it will feel like 8 and more.

Probably fine in trainers, although boots might be better due to the climbs. The paths are mostly gravel track, some stony beach, one or two grassy slopes.

Toilets at the start and finish, along with cafe, drinks etc. Drinks hut also at Durdle door car park.

Escape points exist in the format of not doing certain stretches, as it is a figure of 8 style walk. Upon reaching Durdle door, there isn't any essential need to descend to the sea for example.

Public transport, probably not advised. Car share via comments best.

This is a walk led by Aaron for and on behalf of Dorset Humanists. As such there is no liability, no responsibility or insurance cover offered. You take part in the walks strictly at your own risk, and we will give you as much prior information beforehand to make the judgement if you are up to it. Escape points where you can "leave the walk" will be provided on many walks.

The walks are targeted at adults and we have no provision/supervision for children. Dogs may be possible on some walks, subject to beach restrictions (at your discretion), be aware there will be sheer drops on some walks and possibly sheep. Photos will be taken on walks, if you are camera shy please let the walk leader know in advance.

The walks themselves are free, although do feel free to contribute to the donations bowl at the next talk. This helps cover the cost of running this site.
